Description
The SignalReach SA200 Dual band cellular
amplifier provides amplification of transmit and receive signals for
improved
cellular communications. Designed for use with cellular tri-mode. dual
band telephones, the signal ampliphier reduces problems with signal
fades
and dropped calls while improving voce quality, service range and
access.
The signal amplifier enhances the performance of the cradle-mounted
cellular
telephones, resulting in wider coverage, less signal fading in
buildings
in urban environments, and increase coverage when used in rural areas.
This product is designed to operate for CDMA, TDMA and GSM mode signals
from cellular service providers in the 824 to 894 MHz and 1850 to 1990
MHz (PCS) cellular bands. The amplifier is designed to work with a
variety
of cradles and hands-free systems.
This cellular signal amplifier is a
network-compatible
device that ensures proper power levels in the transmit (uplink) path,
enhancing the cellular telephone user's experience without compromising
cellular network inter-operability requirements. Further, the signal
amplification
provided by the amplifier receive circuitry is appropriately optimized
for network operation.
Application
The SignalReach SA200 Dual Band Cellular
Amplifier can be used with any cellular telephone, provided the user
has
a suitable cradle with an RF output or an RF connecting cable.
An AC adapter provides power to the SA200
Amplifier. The amplifier output is connected to an indoor
glass-mount
antenna or to an external antenna for connection with the celluar
network.
The SA200 Amplifer ma also be connected
with
SignalReach DS Series Cellular Desk Stations, allowing the user to dock
their cellular telephone and converse over the desk station's
telephone-style
handset. A Desk Station has a replaceable cradle system, to
accommodate
several manufacturers and models of cellular telephones.
Residential
The SignalReach AS200 Dual Band Cellular
Amplifier can be used to provide superior coverage in residential
applications,
where the construction of the building interferes with the transmission
of signals to the cellular network. The amplifier provides the
necessary
gain, when used with an appropriate antenna, to communicate with the
cellular
network. The antenna can be a glass mount type attached to the
inside
of a window, or can be an externally mounted version.
Business
The SignalReach SA200 Dual Band Cellular
Amplifier can be used to provide superior coverage in business
applications,
where the construction of the business establishment prevents the
transmission
of signals to the cellular network. The amplifier provides the
necessary
gain, when used with an appropriate antenna, to communicate with the
cellular
network. The antenna can be a glass mount type attached to the
inside
of a window, or can be an externally mounted version.
The SA200 Amplifier may also be used in
conjunction
with the SignalReach SN Series Cellular Smart Nodes to connect
point-of-sale
terminals and other devices used for credit or secure data
transactions.
By making use of the packet data environment in the cellular network, a
business owner can perform credit transactions in real time over an
encrypted
data path.
Antenna Recommendations
A user may use a glass mount antenna (one
that attaches to a building window on the interior of the building),
when
the window glass is plain and uncoated. A user may require a pole mount
exterior antenna if the glass is coated, or if objects or terrain
between
teh building and the cellular network tower interfere with the signal
to
the cellular telephone. Care should be taken with magnetic mount to
ensure
there is sufficient ground plane material underneath the antenna mount,
so as to allow proper operation of the antenna. It is recommended that
the metal ground plane be at least 15 cm x 15 cm in area.
To comply with FCC regulations, the
recommended
maximum gain of any antenna is 5 dBd.
Summary
The SignalReach SA200 Dual band cellular
amplifier is a cost effective device for improving or extending
cellular
network coverage for cellular subscribers. With the appropriate
external
antenna, the cellular subscriber can have telephone coverage inside
buildings
that interfere with normal network coverage, or in areas where network
power levels are weak.
